Budget Saviors
FPL Budget Saviors: DEFCON per £m vs Ownership
Defensive-contribution output per £m spent against ownership — top-left is the sweet spot: cheap DEFCON earners almost nobody owns yet.
Hover any point for full details. Only defenders meeting the minutes filter are shown, ranked into the plotted pool by a mix of value and ownership so both hidden gems and popular comparisons appear.
How this helps you
In plain terms: this chart hunts for defenders quietly banking defensive-contribution points without the price tag or ownership to match. The further left a player sits, the fewer managers currently own them; the higher up, the more DEFCON output they return for every £m of price. Top-left is the sweet spot — genuine hidden gems worth a transfer in. Bottom-right players are already heavily owned despite comparatively weak DEFCON value for their price, worth a second look before persisting with them.
Target: Hidden Gems
Avoid: Owned but Less Value
Finding cheap DEFCON defenders in FPL
This chart divides each defender's defensive-contribution rate (DEFCON per 90) by their price, then plots that value-per-£m figure against ownership. The dashed lines mark a fixed 10% ownership cutoff and the plotted pool's median value, splitting the chart into four zones: Hidden Gems (cheap value, low ownership), Template Value (cheap value, already popular), Avoid (weak value, low ownership) and Overowned, Less Value (weak value despite high ownership).
Point color reflects a hidden-gem score rather than team colors — greener points combine strong DEFCON-per-£m output with lower ownership, the exact profile worth transferring in before the wider game catches on. Use the minutes filter to exclude rotation risks and the Top N control to widen or narrow the plotted pool.
